Approved for an Orchard Bank Mastercard back in 02/2010
Card was my first card since dumping first premier. $300 limit and still their at $300 a year later. Worst customer service ever. When you call in csr's are very hard to understand. I called to complain about $74 annual fee is unacceptable rep cut fee in half to $37. Recently card was charged $74 again since it had been a year had to threaten to close in order to get fee cut in half. Word of advice never pay orchard bank their high annual fee first rep I spoke to told me they wouldn't remove the fee told him I want to cancel card then I'm not rich and cant afford outlandish fee American came on reduced fee immediately.

Way to go! In reviewing other FG members on this card... Orchard Bank loves CL's of $300+.

Congrats. As bad as HSBC is, I am sure you would agree they are much better than First Premier. They are giving people the opportunity to rebuild credit. It is a scratch my back and I'll scratch your back business model. They use you for your fees and higher APRs and you use them for their credit reporting. After about two years if you've kept your nose clean, you can graduate to prime banks. Don't forget to check out your local credit union as well.
