First I would like to say I have not tried to apply for a credit card in a long while I had a descent trans union credit score of 683, but 3 years ago I thought I met the girl of my dreams and I ended up getting duped. Long story short I cosigned a car for her she stopped paying and it dropped my credit score faster than a sack of potatoes. Well I finally got all that bank stuff paid and started getting my credit back on track. I now have a credit score of 585 and I'm slowly working my way back up. I went online to capitalone.com and I was actually instantly approved for 300 which isn't a lot but its something, I was so excited. They actually called me today to verify a couple of questions and she let me know that my card was sent out a couple of days ago. I was wondering what other card should I apply for to start getting my credit score higher?? Thanks for any info.

I have roughly the same credit score and was approved also with a cl of 300. 2 months prior to being approved I was only good for a secures card. I don't recommend applyin for anything else Because it will be difficult to be approved.

They provide you with a free credit score and give you stats about your credit and credit score. Also let you update your score everyday. It's help me raise my score by 15 points.

Try HSBC's suprime cards. Their website can pre-approve you online w/out a hard inquiry. Hooters does subprime cards. Creditone bank, though they charge an $8 per month fee. A great card would be a secured card from Citibank or Wells Fargo, though they can be tricky to get approved for but if you do, they will graduate you over to unsecured in 18months or so which would be great. For the love of money, please don't get a card from First Primier or Applied card Bank. Hope those recommendations help. I speak from experience. Good luck!
