koolriderz's review: I wasn't approved with an average 561 FICO. Oh well. The card is offered by HSBC, and I just got one in the last couple months. Maybe, that's why I couldn't get this card. They sent me an in-mail invitation to apply. I noticed a lot of people approved have scores under 600.
Be careful wasting an inquiry. If you already have an HSBC card or recently applied for one, like Orchard Bank, wait a while longer before you try for this.
Most time card companies won't let you have more than one of their cards approved within a certain amount of time, typically 45 days.

You are right about timing of new card apps and with the number of cards a person can have with HSBC. They hold me to two cards. Also, HSBC has been going through a corporate rework and have pretty much not issued a lot of new cards while implementing their Card Reform Act and rework. Try again later. HSBC has put a lid on new HSBC Credit Cards and you can't even find them online. Only Orchard Bank and Household Bank. It seems the parent corporation is not all that happy about the sub-prime account holders they acquired from the US when they entered our card market here. Changes are in the wind.

Have had this card for 2 years as of this month. I tried to apply a couple of times for other cards. My most recent app in Nov returned as a decline because they said that I had recently been approved for a card. Called their customer service line and they only approve a 2nd HSBC branded card after you've had your current 1 for at least 6 mths. FYI.
