I applied for this card, but was initially declined. Then I was approved for $500.00 buyer credit.
At the time my scores were EQ 678 EX 626 TU 687
I only had one credit card an HSBC household bank I ahve had for 4 years and never an increase on it. It's only 300.00 credit card.
I thought I woudl apply for some credit cards and see what I could get. I was told I needed more then 300.00 of credit to up my score so I applied for 5 this month 05/10 and got approved for 4/5 so not to bad lol.
I checked my FICO thinking I would take a small hit on my score, but TU didn't lower a single point after the all 5 inquires it stayed at 687, but my EQ went from 678 to 665 so it dropped 13 points. I was thinking 10 points it would drop so I was pretty close.
Well my available credit now is 2250.00 between 5 cards instead of 1 with 300.00 so I hope this works.
Right now I'm carrying a 2% balance between all 5 cards.

Congrats on your recent approvals... You should credit garden now for the next year at least. Further apps will certainly result in denials.
You've made great strides in your efforts. Now, show the people who recently approved you some great payment history, and better things will come later.

Congratulations... Now here is what to do... Get yourself the PayPal Debit MasterCard... Then set up your buyer credit account as your back up funding source... So when there is no $$ in your PayPal account... This one kicks in... BOOM... You just made yourself another $500 limit credit card... Then make your normal payments... Works great for me.

Casey, I have the paypal buyer credit and debit card. So, if I setup the buyer credit as the funding source and withdrawal out of the debit card, I can take cash out?

Why yes you can. I am in the same scenarion. I got the $500 buyer credit, but I linked it as a back up on my debit card, so it actually works as a credit card now with a $500 line! Good times.

I never tried the card at an ATM... But I don't see why it wouldn't work... There is a $1 charge I saw for an ATM withdrawal... So go to a free ATM if you can so you don't get nailed twice!! Good luck.

Congratulations on your approval ! Has anyone else noticed that their Paypal Debit Card. Is issued by JP Morgan Chase and not GEMB. I hadn't noticed this until recently. I have both Paypal Credit Card & Debit Card. I have my Paypal Credit Card linked as a back up funding source for the Debit Card.

Hey thanks for the advice! I applid for the paypal debit MasterCard and I got message that said we'll send you the card in 1-2 weeks if your approved??
I didn't think they ran a credit check on giving you a DEBIT CARD???

Heads up guyz. If you have a score under 650, don't worry about this card. Though, it would be very nice to have.

Woke up this morning and received an email telling me I was approved for this card.
Very strange since yesterday when I applied for it they said I would received an answer in 1-2 weeks.
Oh well I don't care I got approved and that's all that matters lol

Congratulations! Now that you have the card, focus on your history with all of them. Sometimes it pays to marinate in history because it opens doors for better cards.

Have they gave u cli on the pay pal card yet?... I just got approved with a 500 limit... just curious... this is my lowest limit at moment.
