nckuttoomm's review: I was denied by this credit card that time (Jun 2009) because there was a 30-day delinquency in my recorder. The time my credit score is right above 600. The length of credit history was 18 months. Average hard inquiries is 2.
This card gave me a hard pull from TU.
I didn't apply for this card after I was declined. Around two weeks ago, I went to Costco and applied the True Earning AMEX and I got approved (you can check my review on that card).
Actually, three months after that (Sep 2009), the delinquency black mark was taken out and my credit history is clean again (credit score became around 680). So, one thing for sure is that there is no room for people who do not have clean credit record on this card.

Re: Denied on 2010-06-13
I got a pre-approved offer today.
Cedit line: 3000 (even more than my max 2500)
APR: 22.9% (it seems very high)
It's pretty attractive to me but I already have an AMEX COSTCO card which with more benefits. If they can give me this offer two months before I wouldn't drive 35 minutes to COSTCO that afternoon.
After sit down and focus on credit card business seriously since June 2009, I learned a lot. Now I got 2 Visa, 1 master, 1 AMEX and 1 discover plus a pre-approved discover. The most important thing is that we can't afford mistakes and always pay on time (which may not help to build you credit but can ruin the whole thing if you don't follow the rule). The second important thing is to keep our balance ratio < 10%.
If you already have a black mark on you credit history, do not blame the card companies who seems to remember that forever. You got rejected, you got rejected.
If you have higher than 10% balance ratio and get rejected, do not blame the card companies either. Since the rule is so simple and obvious, you totally can pay by cash or debit card for 3 months and keep your report looks nice temporarily in order to get their approval.
Third, if you got rejected by the reason of the credit history length, do not take that serious for that is definitely not the main reason they reject you.
Beyond above, still a lot to say but if you can't follow the first two and get rejected, please do not complain because that the least two things you can easily accomplish.
