I have been re-building my credit for a couple years now. My scores are now in the middle to upper 600's, and have lots of inquaries. Recieved pre-approval and was very hesitant to apply, thinking I would be denied, since American Express requires very good credit scores to get any of theire cards. I just went to theire website and applied. Took what seemed like forever processing, and then said we are unable to complete your application at this time, we will be e-mailing you our decision. But just below that was a link that said click here to see your application status now. I clicked it, and at the top of the page, it said APPROVED. I almost fell over. This is the first prime card I have ever had, and I never even imagined I would get an AMEX card either.

Congrats! I really like my Blue card and Amex's website is really user friendly.
Be sure to let us know what your credit line is when you get the card.

Congratulations one day I hope I get a pre-approval letter like you for a regular credit card with American Express right now I just have the premier gold charge card. But I can still remember the feeling that you just experienced when you saw the Approval from Amex, I was in a shocked state too because my scores were not high and baddies on my EX report. Good Luck with your card and enjoy.
