Got an pre approved offer in mail. Have closed 2 cards before 3 years. But off late there was no default. Student so was not approved instantly. So called back with the number provided they checked enrollment and was offered credit in less than 4 minutes. Very quick and informative people in the customer support. Had to call them back for card design which they changed. Great guys to deal with.

Congratulations on your approval. Discover is a great card to have and their service is top notch. Would you mind sharing what bureau they pulled and what your approximate score was? This could help others determine if they would want to apply. Thanks!

They pulled by experian which was close to 716. But as I said it was a pre approved offer so they decided to start with 3000$ limit. Even though I closed 2 cards before 3 years(defaulted) I did not apply for more than 3 cards in past 3 and half years (all of them were pre approved offers) and was paying all my cards on time with no balance. Recently capital one gave me a 3000$ increase probably that would have helped them to make this decision.

Thanks! 716 is a great score. With consistant usage Discover should bump your CL up within a year. Congratulations again on your approval.
