dm's review: I was approved for the store retail card in December. At the time the CSR said I was not eligible for either the Platinum Visa or the Signature Visa. I was disappointed, but I really wanted an account with Nordstrom. Also, the CSR said I could call in 6 months to request an upgrade. Approved for 2K at Tier III pricing (14.9%). Anyway, this week I spoke with a colleague that once worked for Nordstrom Bank (the issuer of the accounts) and was informed that I should try to call now and that sometimes the system will auto approve with as little as one month of activity. I called and was told that I was eligible for the Platinum Visa! Limit of 4k (Tier III pricing; 14.9% for store charges; 18.9% for all others)! Not worried about the interest rate since I've been paying off in full every month since I eradicated a ton of debt this past year. On the bad side... When I applied in December, they pulled ALL 3 credit reports. No hits though on the upgrade. FICOs: TU=723; Equifax=756 I'll still call in 6 months for the Signature Visa. I want the travel rewards!

CONGRATS! Glad we can see some "luv" for credit. With the new law taking effect changes may be a challenge.

Congratulations !!! Those are nice scores & nice credit limit also ! Do they keep your Nordstrom purchase balance seperate from purchase balances made everywhere else on your statement. I didn't realize any company's had different APR's depending on where you made your purchases. That sounds like a cool feature if you carry a balance and shop at Nordstrom a lot.

Congrats! I've heard that this is a great card to have and will grow with you pretty quickly.

Congrats on the upgrade. I have the Platinum Visa as well and it is a good card overall. I usually load it up before Christmas so I can get one of those Nordstrom certificates for $20.
Just a word of warning, you need to have at least a $5K limit to be upgraded to a Signature product. That is a Visa regulation.
Good luck!
