Said too many inquiries, and not enough credit history. Ive been applying like crazy I need to calm down. 717 experian, 717 equifax, 726 transunion.

Yeah, Discover is pretty conservative. Good idea to slow down a bit. Too many inquiries and recent apps tend to scare off potential creditors.
Did they counter offer with an HSBC Discover?

Discover is a conservative lender, to say the least. You will have to let those inquiries fall off before applying with them again.

You should apply for AMEX first before Discover which would make things easier. Too many hard inquiries are not good but there are still some people get it. By the way, maybe you should say something about how long yours credit history is and how many different type of credit cards you have. Those make big differences.
