joeyman's review: I received the per-approval in the mail, and was mainly enticed because of the 0% APR for one year. I just applied for a new apartment, so I'm planning on purchasing a new sofa on the card. The credit limit is $1,000 with the five month credit steps program which will raise the limit to $1,500. After one year the APR goes to 19.8%. Which is the same as my current Elan College Rewards Card. I typically keep the balances low anyways, but the sofa is a different story. My experian score was 714, they pulled all three (I think). I have 1.3 years credit history with one card and student loans.
Another reason I applied was because I really would like an American Express. I think this will get me closer to that goal. I've been denied two times from American Express (Blue & Costco AMEX).
I would suggest this to anyone with new or rebuilt credit history. Especially the one year 0% APR. :)

Congratulations on your new card. Is this your first Capital One account?
Does it have a member since date on the front? Just curious.

Yeah this is my first Capital One card, it's my 2nd card ever. I'm young - 19 years old. The card shows the month it was activated/sent-out but nothing about a card member since. The Target REDCARD says that, also they use it as an additional security measure when accessing your account. (I don't have a REDCARD.)

I got my first Capital One at 19 as well. Still have it 12 years later. That is one of the reasons I wish Cap 1 would put the Member Since dates on their cards, 1998 sounds pretty darn old now.
Congrats again, Capital One will grow with you.

Congrats! Join the party! I opened my first Capital One account two years ago when I was 18 y/o. It is also my oldest credit card account and still remains open. As Colo said, they will grow with you as long as you keep making your payments on-time and not go over your limit.
