aleatha's review: I applied for this credit card in October 2009 and I was denied once again from HSBC. I have two credit cards from HSBC and one auto loan so I thought since I have the credit cards and car loan from them that I would have no problem in getting one more card from HSBC but I was wrong.

Hint... HSBC does limit the number of cards you can have. In reviewing this site, three seems to be the number. In my case, HSBC holds me to two... In today's market they are likely to be holding on this.

The person who posted above me is right. Hsbc only allows 3 sometimes 2 lines of credit. That's why I won't even bother trying for the best buy MasterCard. I have the store card but have 3 other cards issued by them. They are kinda of stingy with there credit increases anyway so don't feel too bad.

If you would like to apply for another credit card with HSBC, then you need to combine the other 2 credit cards first. I had the same problem, I already had 3 and went to apply for something, and I didn't realize it was a HSBC backer and was immediately denied. They have a limit. So again, combine first, you will still have the same limit-I believe-(I could be wrong, but they told me if you have good history you keep your combined limit), then go for the next card. GOOD LUCK, and keep us updated.

I just tried combining one card onto the other. Last month and they said they currently weren't doing that right now. They said they may go back to doing that! I think they're waiting for the begining of the year.

Hmm. I must be one of the lucky ones. I have 4 accounts right now with HSBC. I have a herberger $1200 limit. HSBC Best Buy $300 limit, HSBC Orchard $300 HSBC Auto Finance although I have never gotten an increase on my accounts and never expect to. They are really stingy even though I always pay on time

I began to rebuild using the orchard bank (HSBC) card. Initial limit was $400. Charged and paid a few times and then held a limit near 400 and paid minimum... Went on a trip after about year and called them to ask for an increase... They gave me a $100 increase. Soooooo they do eventually help but it is stingy... My capital one went from 200 to 500 to 750 to 1000 in a year and has stayed at 1000... They wont increase more yet...

Thanks for the information about HSBC. Yes, the sub-prime credit card companys not in days are very cheap in increasing creditors credit limits.
