soledoctor's review: I check MyFICO for my scores TU 650 EQ 630. I was at Bloomie's and saw a handbag to my liking. The cashier offered 10% off with approval for a Bloomie's credit card. Lo and behold, I was approved on the spot with a $1000 credit limit. The APR is 23.99% so I definitely must pay off each month. I have had Macy's for one year with a $100 CL and they recently bumped me to $200. Just can't figure this credit thing out but I'm here to learn.

Call macys every 90 days and ask for a CLI... With a good payment history they should approve you... I went from 300 dollars to 1000 in about a year and a half... Good luck

Concerning Macys, based on what a friend was told by CSR, they have changed their CLI practices. Now you have to have usage on top of good payment history and they lowered the amount that you could get per request. IDK if this was particular to my friend's account or as a whole but its not what I remembered when I had a macys card.

If you applied online for your Macy's that could be why you were given a low credit line. Go to your local Macy's and show customer service your drivers license and ask for a credit line increase. Online applications are a risk to them apparently, so they want to confirm your identity before they give out larger limits.

Congrats!
Wouldn't it be a better idea to stop accepting online applications for store credit cards and allow consumers to only apply in-store instead of handing out $100 CL's those who were approved online?
That's just my 2 cents...
