aboss3's review: After getting a First Premier MC I decided to apply for Hooters MC, and was immediately denied. My scores are: FICO - 505, TU - 525, Exp - 506.
Planning on getting a CC from Citi first, and after a year apply for Cap1.
Good try though :)

Sorry to hear about the declined application. Do you have a lot of inquiries? If you have more then 3 in the past 6 months banks do not like to see that.
When you say Citi, do you mean the secured card? If you are getting declined for Hooters and you have the First Premier, Citi likely will not open a regular account as they are a prime bank. That is probably what you meant but I thought I would ask/inform.

Fico Too Low on 2009-04-01
I think 525 is too low of a score for this card. I believe the lowest reported score was somewhere in the mid 500s, but many people have been denied in the low 600s. I wouldn't try again until you are at ateast 565.

I would apply for a Capital One card first then wait a year and apply for a Citi card. Capital One would be a lot easier to get approved for than Citi.

Citi Card? on 2009-04-02
I also have a first premier card. I applied for and was approved for the Citi secured card, and wells fargo secured card with a FICO of only about 500-510. I like the Citi secured better, because your cd you open with the secured card also earns you interest. The Wells Fargo, and Bank of amerca secured accounts don't earn you any interest on your deposit. I would definitley suggest the Citi secured card over the wells fargo, they have both been excellent with me as far as service, but Citi card has better terms with it.

Im Sorry To Hear That.... on 2009-04-03
Hooters seems to be cracking down on the amount of new accounts they are opening. I would wait a year with positive payment history on your 1st premier card and try the card out again.

After getting declined by Hooters, I just received my new unsecured cap1 'platinum' ))) w/$200 credit limit and 0% intro APR :)) Turns out, I don't have to wait for a year to get one :)
