CLIs on 2009-03-16
I believe the older the account is, the higher CLI you can get. But you are only guaranteed 1 CLI per year and there is a cap on how much they will give you.

Hi yellowd1, thanks for the info, just want to ask if you could provide us a little more info about your your initial credit line, scores and your APR. Also, here is a link where you can ask any questions in regards to a credit card. Thanks!

They did not show what my credit limit would be, the only score I've seen of mine so far is 532. I have to send in Identification to Experian and Equifax, funny... I was always able to pull my own reports until I did the opt-out option...

For Future Use on 2009-03-16
Hello yellowd1,
Normally I would remove reviews that are posted as a question. Since this is the first review for this card, I will leave it. In the future, please post information that will help other applicants with making a decision on applying. Some helpful information may include your application experience, customer service, rates, card features, etc.
Thanks for your help.
Mike

First Premier on 2009-03-17
FYI: All of the First Premier Credit unsecured Cards are basically the same with different names for marketing purposes (Centennial, Insight, Possiblities, Forward, First Premier). You may want to read posts on those cards for details.

As soon as you can look for bank names even if it requires a secured card. This card does market itself as 9.9% APR on purchases but by the time all the fees are paid you have nothing. GADS!

I know... But this is the beginning of a rebuild process so it's fine. I was looking at 2 secured options-Citi and BOA. I know that Citi holds the funds in a CD for 18 months; which is fine. I'm now a banking customer with them. What I don't know is if they are a tier1 bank/ credit card. Can someone answer that please.

BofA can be a real stickler when it comes to their secured product. I'm not sure about Citi but it is a prime bank. You only need 200 to start with Citi but it is an 18 month wait, as you know. US Bank Secured might be a good option... Prime bank... Reasonable fees...12 months to move to a better product from them...
If you want Citi on your report you might check into one of their gas cards... I was approved for a Citgo Gas card when my credit was less than average.
One comment about 1st Premier... I called to cancel my Centennial Gold card (fees) when I was approved for some others and talked to a nice rep... Told me because I was a good customer who paid on time she would give me a $70 credit back to my account to cover the monthly fees. She was friendly and spoke good English, and 1st Premier has been good to me... Post my payments on time and friendly... So I kept the card for now... But they are stingy on CLI... But their customer service is better than HSBC from India/Pakistan...
I know they get a bad rap from some, but they did help me when others wouldn't and since then have Walmart, Old Navy, Credit One, Direct Rewards Discover, etc... Working my way upwards into the good zone... Have to wait on apps though cuz I went on app spree at the beginning of year... Time to let accounts mature a bit... Marie
