arizz75474's review: I got this card with 2 others on the road to recovery. Yes the fees are high but the fault is my own. I have had no problems with the card. They report monthly and live up to what was promised. The only thing I do not like is that when you make a payment with a debit card on the internet they add the amount of the payment to your current pending charges. For example: Your CL is 300, you have a balance of 150 dollars, and you make a payment for 100 dollars then your new current CL will be 50 dollars for 7 days exactly for the payment to process. Make sense?? That is the only bad thing, but it doesn't count you over the limit if you do so by fault of payment, or monthly service fee. So far so good though my current limit is 300 and I got the card with my EQ and EX both in the 480's. No nightmare stories yet, honestly I think the reason some people post bad reviews about the card is because they default on payment do not read the terms cleary, or go over the limit. So far I am satisfied and on the road to recovery. Also customer service has always been friendly. The online website is free to access and up to date as far as recent transactions go. Hope this is helpfull.

With your sentiment about people slamming the card because they either fell past due or didn't read the fine print close enough for the fees.
Have you checked out a secured card from BofA or Citi?

I Finally Closed My Account. on 2009-02-13
I used Continental Finance on my road to credit recovery. Even though my score was in the high 700s, I had no real history. Continental Finance contributed to building my credit history and profile. I recently closed the account because I have built my credit with prime cards. I wasn't happy about being charged a ridiculous fee by CF for an increase in my credit limit. Also, I didn't like being charged a monthly maintenance fee. So, while I appreciated CF for helping, I had to let them go.

That's the way to do it. Use them like they used you. These types of cards simply will not grow with you and should only be used as stepping stones. And if you can, avoid it all together and get a secured card from a reputable bank.

Know little about them but reading your eval it scares me how bottom feeders use people in distress. Forget being nice and take advantage of them. As you probably have read from ColoNative, secured cards with AF running around $29 plus APR's around 14% to 19% are not to bad as starters and you get your money back generall after 9 to 18 months plus and unsecured major credit card. Food for thought!
